Describes grid display options up to V6.02. For version V.6.1 additional functionality was included to allow totals to be added to the bottom of grids.
The look and feel of a grid can be configured using the Display Options Icon
A pop-up window appears and the grid can be formatted and configured using the Grid - Display options Screen
Note: Changes can be previewed using the 'Apply' button. Pressing 'OK' will save the changes.
The Display Options screen is divided into numerous sections
1 Sorting
2 Columns
3 Dimension
1 Sorting - This allows the Grid to be sorted by a column present on the chart. If, for instance, the Grid is to be sorted by 'Accounting Period' then the 'Accounting Period' column would be selected.
The sort order can be ascending or descending or none.
The number of results returned (rows displayed) can also be set here using the Results Count field. This option can be used to show 'Top 10' or 'Bottom 10' type results. Typing zero will show all results returned.
2 Columns - A row is shown here for every column in the grid. Here you can specify if a column is drillable (tick box) and specify the minimum width of the column (for auto resizing).
2.1 Conditional Formatting - You can also format columns/rows in the grid by pressing conditional formatting button (Blue +). i.e. You might want to show in green all sales above £1000.
2.1.1 Condition - You can specify the condition under which the formats will be applied.
For numeric values you can specify a numeric range (Minimum/Maximum) for the condition to be met. For string values the operators (Equals/Contains/Starts With/Ends With) are available. In any case where the condition is met, you can specify the formats to be applied (Bold/Italic/Foreground Colour/Background Colour) and whether the whole row should be highlighted. Note: Multiple conditions can be applied to each column so you cna have different colours applied depending on the condtion being met. Multi-Condition Formatting Example:
2.2 Delete Columns - You can also delete a column from the grid using the delete button (Red X)
3 Dimension - Here, you can specify the dimension of the component in pixels.
