FAQ
Viewing a Parent-Child dashboard
Parent-Child dashboards are good for comparing the same information side-by-side by different attributes. i.e Show the performance of the Leeds branch compared to the Manchester branch.
Parent-Child dashboards are configured at design time by the dashboard builder and contain only one single component (Parent) but allow multiple copies of the first component drilldown (Child) of the parent component to be viewed side by side.
This is done by clicking the required value from the parent component and then clicking a child component. Repeat for each attribute you wish to compare. The child component is filtered using the attribute the user has clicked on the Parent.
Example: YTD Admissions for Kidderminster/Dudley/Walsall are compared side-by-side:
Further component drilldowns can be viewed from the child components (if they have been specified in the component builder). Child components are created by the designer as the first level of component drilldown from the top level parent component.
The parent component can be identified by [Parent] in the component title.
You can see what attribute a child component is filtered for by the 'breadcrumbs' under the title.
