Combining security filters - V5.2 and earlier
Multiple security filters can be combined in a single dataset to further reduce and refine the amount of data returned to a user. This is done by repeating the steps in Adding a security filter to a dataset and selecting a different column to link to another attribute.
Group value filters are combined together in the case where a user is a member of multiple groups each having security filters defined. In this case OR logic is used, for example the filter might become:
Department = Group Name = ('Finance' OR 'Technical' OR 'HR')
It is also possible for a user to be affected by multiple security filters across several datasets. This is because security filters only look at the specified user or group attribute in the dataset, allowing the other remaining attributes to be used elsewhere, or if the attribute value is found in multiple datasets.
