Dashboard components can contain different types of drilldown to enable you to see the underlying data beneath them.
If a drill down exists, when you hover you mouse over a component, your mouse pointer will change to a hand icon to demonstrate there is a drilldown available. Click to drilldown.
To drilldown within a dashboard:
1 Hover the mouse over the component so your mouse pointer changes to the hand icon. Drilldowns are also easily recognisable if an arrow symbol is visible on the left of the title (circled in red below).
2 Click the mouse when the hand icon appears, to drilldown to the underlying data.
The data will be displayed in one of the following ways:
- A 'Component Drilldown' in a pop up window
- A 'Dashboard Drilldown', which displays a new 'pre-filtered' dashboard within a new tab on the tabstrip. Drilldown further within this dashboard to see even more layers of data.
- A 'Dashboard Drillout', which shows a new URL/web-page opened within another application; this is know as a drillout.
3 Once you have viewed a drilldown, you can just close any dashboards and pop up windows that were opened during the drill down process.
4 Where more than one layer of component drilldown exist, you can traverse back up the levels using the up arrow in the top right of the component drilldown.
