FAQ
Upgrading Your System - Good Practice
A simple good practice guide to upgrading your intuitive dashboard system.
There is an upgrade path for all intuitive installations. The content of each release is can be found in the Version History.
Please note that for upgrades to installations prior to V2.4 please contact support first.
Backups
Prior to installing an intuitive dashboard upgrade it is strongly recommended that a full backup of the existing deployment is taken.
We would recommend undertaking the following on the dashboard server:
- Backup the dashboard database.
- V5.4 and before: SQL Server
- V6.0 onward: SQL Server OR SQLite
- Backup (compressed zip) the Intuitive Dashboard folder (Normally under C:\Program Files\Intuitive Business Intelligence\). This will also backup any custom settings made to the dashboard.config file, main.CSS or images, so they can be re-applied later to the upgraded system.
- Delete the cached feed files (Normally under C:\intuitive_workfiles\Feeds\). Once the system is upgraded successfully, the feeds will be re-populated from the source data connections.
