Chart components are created using a variation on the steps described in Creating components.
To create a chart component:
Before creating a component, ensure that a dataset has been created by the System Designer or Administrator and published to you.
Create a new component which will open the Component Builder.
Select a dataset which will form the source data the component is based on.
Select the component type. For all components the default is Chart so this step can be skipped.
Select dataset columns for the component. Drag-and-drop the dataset columns to the chart area. A Chart component consists of one blue attribute column that maps to the X-Axis on the chart, one or more red measure columns (Y-Series) and up to one green pivot column (Y-Series).
Note: Selecting a different attribute overwrites the previous one.
Add filters to the component to limit the specific data shown on the chart.
It is also possible to Define chart display options.
Component backgrounds (Light/Dark) can not be set for individual components. The component background colour is set when creating a new dashboard or editing a dashboard and will appy to all components on a dashboard.
Resize a component to best display the information. This can be resized on a dashboard.
Add component drilldowns, if required.
Define a title for the chart component.
Save the chart component.
Publish and close the chart component to allow others to view and use the component you have just created.
